Our Story

  • 2000    Mark Sosebee formed Agora Inc. (dba Agora Foods) as a distributor of frozen poultry in Gainesville, GA
  • 2003    Gold Creek Distributors, LLC is formed as a subsidiary of Agora, Inc with two minority shareholders.  Gold Creek Distributors starts in the back of a Dawsonville grocery store using 900 square feet for production.
  • 2004    Gold Creek Distributors, LLC changes name to Gold Creek Foods, LLC and relocates to historic downtown Dawsonville and renovates a 53,000 square facility into a Poultry Processing Facility.
  • 2005    Gold Creek grows over 100%
  • 2006    Mark Sosebee, CEO of Gold Creek Foods is featured in Georgia Trend magazine as “one to watch”
  • 2007    Gold Creek doubles production and now has over 500 employees and $80 million dollars in sales
  • 2008    Gold Creek breaks $100 million dollars in sales
  • 2010    Agora, Inc through recapitalization acquires the remaining minority interest.
  • 2012    Gold Creek purchases a 40,000 square feet Pilgrims Plant located in Gainesville, GA that is completely renovated.
  • 2013    Gold Creek purchases from Perdue Farms a 30,000 square feet facility located in Gainesville, GA
  • 2014    Gold Creek purchases a 160,000 square feet facility from Schreiber Foods.  A state of the art facility moving Gold Creek closer to entering the prepared Foods segment with fully cooking capabilities
  • 2015    Gold Creek Foods, LLC changes legal name to Gold Creek Processing, LLC.  Breaks $200 million dollars in sales and has over 1,250 employees.
